10 Exercises to release trapped gas and relax your baby's body

  • If your baby seems to have gas and wind trapped somewhere and you're not sure where, then try doing each of the exercise below, twice a day,

  • choose a time between feeds when they are relaxed

  • if they bring up a little milk, don't panic. We'd rather get the winds out!

  • if they don't seem to like a position, move on to the next one

  • covers all main areas

  • do them daily for a week and hopefully you will see a marked improvement

1. Wiggle Waggle

A gentle stretch and warm up:

2. Tummy Rolling

3. Trampoline

This technique uses body weight to shift milk and gas around.

4. Wiggly Fingers

Deep, under the diaphragm burping technique.

5. Windscreen wipers

Swish the abdominal area from side to side.

6. Ileo caecal valve stimulation

Gently massage area over this valve between small and large intestine.

7. Relax the diaphragm

8. Belly wobble

Mobilise gas that may be trapped in the lower digestive tract.

9. Align the Spine

Gentle massage and stretch to relax and align your baby.

10. The Bicycle

Remember:
  • do each exercise for about a minute

  • if they don't seem to like a position, move on to the next one

  • do them twice daily for 7 days and you should see a marked improvement

  • YOUR BABY WILL LOVE YOU FOR THIS :)
